I’m a recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Washington’s computer science and engineering program. My focus was on the intersection of biology and computer science, using biology to do tasks traditionally done by computers.
For the past seven years I have worked in the Molecular Information Systems Lab (MISL) in close collaboration with Microsoft Research to make archival DNA data storage a reality. I have also collaborated with the Security and Privacy Research Lab to make DNA sequencing secure.
I am currently wrapping up my last project at MISL and am looking for research-oriented jobs in industry. Working on DNA data storage at MISL has been incredible, it’s taught me so much and even allowed me to switch fields from biology to computer science, but I’m eager to see what interdisciplinary work comes next! If you are currently looking to hire someone with a very broad and deep skillset at the intersection of biology and computer science, don’t hesitate to email me, or message me on LinkedIn.
